Common Prepress Problems and How You Can Avoid Them
No layout supplied with job.
Images are low-res or RGB. Images should be at the scale of ½"=1' @300 dpi. They should also be supplied in CMYK mode.
Digital files or layouts are out of proportion. Double check your measurements. Use an easily translated scale such as ½" = 1'
Bleed is not included for placed images. Include 1/8" bleed on each side of your file at ½" scale.
Artwork too close to edges. Include 1/8" "safe area" on each side of your file at ½" scale.
Include any fonts that are not outlined or rasterized in your file.
Values in PMS colors are different than the Pantone book specifies.
PMS values specified in your file should be the CMYK equivalent values from Pantone.
