On Monday, August 21, 2017, a total solar eclipse will shadow parts of Missouri. The moon’s shadow that day will cross through 10 states and is expected to enter northwest Missouri at 1:06 p.m. The last time a solar eclipse occurred in the greater St. Louis area was in 1442. Eclipse festivities are being planned in many Missouri cities including a Total Solar Eclipse Party in Arnold, MO. This three-day event will include a variety of fun events for the whole family to enjoy. If you’re looking to “bark at the moon” during the eclipse, head down to Carterville, IL for the four-day Moonstock festival where headliner Ozzy Osbourne will perform during eclipse totality at 1:20 p.m. For more information on these events visit arnoldmo.org/event/total-solar-eclipse-party and moonstock2017.com.
